With wildfires, drought, and extreme heat threatening families and communities across Oregon, we can\u2019t afford anything but the strongest climate action, especially for our most vulnerable communities.\u00a0<\/p>

Environmental justice communities\u2014Black, Indigenous and people of color; youth and elders; and people with low incomes, who live in rural areas, or who live with disabilities\u2014have been disproportionately impacted by climate change. That has to stop.<\/p>

We are working with government, as well as fundraising on our own, <\/a>toward community-driven, science-based solutions for those most harmed.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Over the last few years, Seeding Justice has been diligently involved in the creation of Oregon\u2019s groundbreaking Climate Protection Program. This Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) initiative will require oil and gas companies to cut their pollution by 90% by 2050, and will provide tens of millions of investments each year into green energy projects for Oregon\u2019s most harmed communities.<\/span><\/p>

The CPP is on the path to restoration after being invalidated in December 2023 due to oil and gas industry lawsuits<\/a>. Our Executive Director Se-ah-dom Edmo\u00a0spoke to OPB in August<\/a> about the status of the program\u2019s rulemaking.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
